Jun. 28th, 2010 03:03 pmMy last office environment was a lot more dressy than this one, and I'm still adjusting. I'm surprised at how reluctant I am to give up pinstripe pants and satiny shirts. I remember mendel posting once upon a time about his realization that buying clothes for work and clothes for home made him feel more comfortable/stylish in both environments than he ever was while trying to make all of his clothes do dual-duty.

Oct. 2nd, 2007 09:04 amLet's say you're the hiring manager for a non-customer-facing technical position, and your workplace is somewhat laid back, but not quite foosball tables in the bathrooms laid back. Further, let's say you interview someone for a position and they basically knock your socks off on the phone, but when they come in for an in-person interview, despite knocking even more socks, they turn out to have BRIGHT ORANGE HAIR.
