moominmollyI would say "it's funny how OBVIOUS dream metaphors are, isn't it?" but it's possible not everyone would get as much out of a dream about friction shifters vs indexed shifters as I did.

It looks like bikes have come a long way since I last rode one, but I always preferred the friction shifters. Index shifters never seemed to line up quite right. OTOH, my index shifters sometimes shifted by themselves . . .
probably in all cases I needed to know how to better maintain a bicycle.
