Oh, yes! And the good news: we DO, in fact, own the house across the street, now.

Anyone want to help paint? I will offer a wide variety of goods and services in exchange for your manual labor, or just your company. We also need to wash walls, sand floors, move doors and stuff, all kinds of fun tasks. Come be buff and earn my fervent gratitude!

Ooo! I'd take you up on it. Sounds like you all have your hands full yourselves, though... so many people I know seem to have bought houses recently, I'm sure there will be plenty of people around to laugh at our house angst in the coming months.

Yup we've got our hands full. I envy your chance to work on the house before moving stuff into it. Ours is so stuffed to the gills that getting anything done is going to be a major chore. And I much prefer helping repair than helping move.

I'm happy to have somebody to commiserate with though. ;)

Okay.

When? I'm free this weekend... (might have to check with SWMBO, though.)

Oh, that would RULE! We have plenty of space to put you up, too.

Well, how about, hm, all weekend? Whenever. :) Email me.

And: yaaaaaaaaay!

*heh*. I'd even pick you up if you flew into Providence, RI, or Manchester, NH. I wouldn't even ask you to pay for gas.

And since clearly he should organize his life around my convenience and my whims...

It's still a bit of a hike, though! But it would be neat. :)

I would like to do this - it all depends on when you're doing it, however. This weekend is bad, but the weekend after Thanksgiving would work.

Wow! I'd love the chance to get to see you in non-sick mode. We'll be working this weekend, and after thanksgiving, and after that, and and and... and really any help at all will make me beam.

i'm good for manual labor (and [livejournal.com profile] chaiya says she wants to help too). however, we're moving into high-gear apartment-fixing mode ourselves right now, and this weekend is busy.

perhaps in a week or two?

You guys are, like, seasoned pros and stuff. But you have Thanksgiving work to do. When it's all done I'll tie an apron on you and give you kitchen implements if you'll babble at us while we work. Or I'll put you to work. Or anything you like, really. Whatever! :)

W00t!!

I'm dead to the world until the 7th. Then, we party. Then, I recover from traveling. Then, things finally start winding down with the semester. This doesn't mean I'll have loads of time, but it does mean I'll be available to help some, if you still need it then. (Ha, like you're gonna have it all done by then. It's your first house! Something tells me you all are going to go wild on it.)

Um, I don't know what might be telling you that. Just because I'm a big fan of grand plans...

w00tz, though, on you coming out last night.

*giggle* I know you're tired if this was the afterthought... Seattle weather meant we didn't get to see any pretty shooting stars last night, how was the show?
And I'd help, but, um, you'd prolly have to pick me up too. hehehe.
CONGRATULATIONS!

yes, I am indeed a bit zonky today. Thankfully, I have forgiving coworkers.

The show was decent -- there were some really amazing ones that shot bright green across half the sky, and a bunch of tiny ones all around that you could barely see. The moon was too f'n bright, though. We brought blankets and then went out to IHOP and all was good.

I will break my self-imposed silence here and say, yeah I'm with that. Friday/Saturday are good days this week; next is Thanksgiving, so yeah. I am your willing, albeit handily unknowledged, servant.

Nice! We eagerly await the chance to put you into service. Hm - mail me at molly (at) devclue.com for directions, etc... we're doing enough work that whenever you're free to hang out would be good. I think there will be prepping-y sanding-y polyurethaning-y stuff happening this weekend and bucket brigade stuff schlepping over Thanksgiving. Beer and pizza or sushi and sake or whatever all gladly provided by, uh, us. Me. Whatever. Yay!

I am humbled!

The first rule of house club is that you do not talk about house club.
The second rule of house club is that you Do Not Talk About House Club.
The third rule of house club is that if this is your first night at house club, you have to sign a crushing mortgage.

Congratulations on your elevation to landed gentry!

Congratulations on your elevation to landed gentry!

i'd say "yay, now we can vote" except that a) we already could, and b) look what good it's done us.

our lawyer for the deal is an alderman, though, so in between signing papers we got her to chat about the exciting world of somerville redevelopment politics. that could just be endlessly fascinating.
