Told everyone to come out for a Leonids party tomorrow night, when the shower is TONIGHT. sigh.

Anyway. If you're around tonight and interested, let me know...

and you should today! today may well be the last time for the next 33 years. The past 3 years were all cloudy here in clausthal (there's always clouds here when interesting things happen in the sky! grmpf!) so I couldn't see either the leonids, nor the perseids. And yep, it's cloudy again today. But the peak is between 4 and 5 am local time, so I'm hoping things may clear up a big. zahl is currently taking her pre-meteorstorm nap.

And once again it was completely overcast. Thank you clausthal!
I hope you had better viewing conditions.

I need to watch them and live in the suburbs. Where's the best place for viewing?

Eep! Didn't read this until today. We just picked a semi-random spot partway out the Cape; as it turned out, the sky was nearly as dark above the IHOP in Brighton. Other people went to Walden.

Mneh! Hope you got to see some. I saw a few even under Boston city haze...

Here in the burbs the trees blocked most of the sky. There were little glimpses of magic, though....

Open space is a thing of the past, at least here....
