Jul. 17th, 2002 10:09 amA friend suggests that my recent "hangover" might be hyponatremia. Interesting -- people who have taken a few meals with me may have noticed my ridiculously high average salt intake, and in Paris, not only did I not eat much, I didn't add any salt. SALT IS LIFE! Also, I am an obsessive hydrator. Anyway, it's something I hadn't considered.
This morning's bike ride to work ended in a slight twinge in my tendon. This tends to happen when I bike on back-to-back days, which may put a crimp in any bike-to-the-Hague plans. Though maybe I could bike out and take the train back. If I were clever, I'd do that.

Electrolyte!
Date: 2002-07-17 05:52 pm (UTC)1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
7 tablespoons sugar
1 packet sugar-free Kool-Aid (optional)
.5 teaspoon salt substitute (has potassium and stuff, nasty tasting)
The source warns to not mess up proportions and stuff. I've seen it claimed that salt substitute is optional, but I bet it makes it work better. This is close to what I had when I had flu-anorexia.
