moominmollyA high school friend of mine just died, at 35, of colon cancer: Alec Cyr. He had a baby boy. That obituary suggests donating to his college fund.
Once, we went to France for a month, and he was part of my little crew. When I found out that my father had been rushed to the hospital for bypass surgery, and I had to fly home early in case That Was It -- he gave me a big, sudden, quiet hug. Probably one of the top five hugs of my life.
I hope that when Chase grows up, he knows that his dad was one of the good guys.
