Did you know that "June" does not come from the Latin iĆ«nius but rather from Old Norse jånig meaning "grey"? This is also where the word "young" comes from; grey and young like a baby cygnet. See, look:

Sleepy cygnets:

Today's weather:

See? Obviously true. And, as if to prove it, what did I see just 20 seconds after taking the river photo? GEESE.

Of course, I also dreamed that the hottest new clothing designer around was named Ass Pantsley, so perhaps I am not to be trusted.

Didn't I read an article about women doing better on cognition assays after looking at really cute things?

There aren't words for how badly I needed BABY SWANS.

I can see the ads, now.

Chic woman walking down a NYC-type street in designer clothes.
A guy walks past her, turns, and pauses to lower his sunglasses and give her a once-over look.
Woman notices the guy looking at her, and asks, "Excuse me, are you looking at my Ass?"
Guy is at a loss for words for a second or two before the woman says, "I mean my Ass Pantsley, of course" and points out the tag on her pants/purse/shoes/blouse.

Do you, perhaps, have too much free time on your hands?

Hahah. Er, what [livejournal.com profile] veek said. I had a dream about something, and while riding my bike to work I took photos to illustrate it. Without stopping. My days are so full they're frigging watertight. I never understand why "person X thinks of silly things" always translates to "person X has too much free time" in people's minds...

It's not the thinking silly thoughts that leads to the question, it's the post-thought execution: photographing, uploading, posting. (But yeah, in your case, joke.)

Oooh, hey, look, I see my old dorm!

I do miss those river paths...

Oh, so fuzzy!

I'm laughing about Ass Panstley. I think we're postmodern enough that it will happen in 3 years or so.

your dream, and generally this post in its entirety, i love.

(i didn't really think other people had dreams about false etymologies. which would, nonetheless, be true if the world were based on poems.)
