nighttime snow angels
Jan. 13th, 2009 09:42 amthey work!

In other news, Natalie noticed branding today. We were at Dunkin Donuts yesterday, since after we started to read the Wizard of Oz, Natalie expressed an interest in eating "munchkins THE FOOD". Natalie saw this logo on our napkin:

She pointed to the little steaming cup, and said, "the coffee there says "D-D" which means Dunkin Donuts." I allowed as how that was true, and not only that, but also the word DUNKIN was orange and DONUTS purple/pink, and the Ds on the cup were orange and purple-pink because those were the store's colors. That way, when they put those colors on ads it helps remind you about the donut shop. She then went on to point out everything in the store that was those colors, including her straw -- a fact which I had totally missed.

Also, apparently, pink milk isn't as exciting to drink as it is to think about.

Anyway. A few catch-up pictures:
In the snow! Though not romping. But at least unafraid of the cold.

Pulled on a sled by
spike:

Napping on the plane home from Michigan:

She had been tearing coupons out of in-flight magazines and playing with ponies, surprisingly meltdown-free for a girl on a 13-hour travel day.

A later plane-nap, under
dilletante's hat.

Sleeping in her stripey sleeper:

Stomping and practicing her mad face:

More mad face, with her daddy, grandpa, and great-grandpa (not wearing mad faces):

Her second-cousin, baby Cole:

She was completely obsessed with his sweet sweet little toes.

More with the ponies. They are apparently old enough to go on a trip together and eat lunch and kiss and hug and snuggle. Sounds good to me.

Date: 2009-01-13 04:30 pm (UTC)I have conversations about logos all the time. I pointed them out to her to try to militate against their insidiousness, instead I think I may have made them more fun and interesting. So plus one for subverting the subconscious effect, minus several for multiplying their conscious interest effect.
