Woo doggie, am I tired today. It's all for happy reasons, though I feel a bit scattered when I try to string sentences together.

I have to remember to change my oil tonight before lifting. Ah, baby's first oil change! I'm so proud.

Also: For the first time in a long time, I feel productive at work, but not crushed. That's neat.

Out of curiosity...

What weight does the HX take? IIRC, the Insight uses 0W-20 (difficult to find), and I'm a little curious as to what the HX prefers.

It's like you're psychic, but in reverse! It takes 5W-20, and my local Jiffy Lube was out. They offered to use 5W-30, and I said no thanks. The next one I went to was out of filters. I finally got a successful oil change at my third-choice place, a day later. Yeesh. I'm thinking I should do like you and just do the damn job myself. Aren't oil-change places supposed to make my life easier, not harder?

Actually, under normal circumstances it's just fine to use a slightly heavier oil for the summer months. You're probably still breaking in the engine, though, so insisting on the 5W-20 is probably a good idea.

There are a variety of good reasons to change your own oil, but I'll just leave it at "If ya want it done right, ya gotta do it yerself."
