I don't remember the last non-Burning-Man time I went for five days without internet access. I wrote some letters. It was nice. I just finished reading my email -- most people weren't expecting to hear from me, so it didn't take long or anything. So, all in all: internet hiatus successful. Vacation lovely. Natalie still perky, France still French, smelly cheese still fabulous. IR camera strongly imperfect in focus, but still entertaining.

Livejournal, though, is scary. Maybe later. (Maybe not.)

today's word is "chromatic aberration". i doubt it can be corrected. :( otoh, it does seem that the unmodified rebel will manage ir pictures w/ a suitable filter and glacially long exposures.

I'm glad you had a good time. This is what I did about livejournal - picked the people that if something happened to I'd REALLY want to know, and skimmed their journals. Everyone else I figure I'd get to later, and I am, a little at a time.

Hmm, well, I suspect there is still room for improvement, as I can only pretend to focus at f8 and not on anything much further away than arm's reach. :) Photos later. Still, I was glad to be able to play with it.

Glacially long exposures are so ... well, we'll see if I have the attention span. I definitely plan on trying it, though it will be less good for snapshot-type photos than the G1 is even right now.

that's very true. and look at that one, that was a contracted verb. verbs are love.
