Have you heard Randy Kaplan's (http://www.randykaplan.com/) excellent song (http://cdbaby.com/mp3lofi/rkaplan5-07.m3u) about (having a crush on) her?

I've never had a well developed sense of appropriateness, so I wouldn't know which of my crushes were inappropriate. In fact, I'm not sure why your three are, either.

What about a crush on you, would that be appropriate or not? :)

(what makes a crush inappropriate?)

i had a crush on my (gorgeous, female) 4th grade teacher, and i knew that it was different from what the other girls felt for her.

i also had a thing for walter cronkite, in an intellectual sort of way.

when star wars came out, i was the weird one among my cohort who thought that han solo was a lot cooler and better looking than luke...

Will Shortz? Sheesh. Eugene T. Maleska. Have some dignitas.

From: [identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com
Well, no, see, it's because he always wrote the best puzzles in Games Magazine back before it went under that time it went under. And then he RESURFACED! in my world, right when I was doing crosswords all the time. So, the whole NYTimes thing is a bit of a coincidence, or something.

Not that I'm doubting the extreme rulingness of Eugene T. Maleska.

Ah, OK. I was wondering how Shortz could be a crush of your youth when he really didn't come on the scene until college or so.

I can imagine him being a very good Games magazine type. He is certainly diabolical.

Jen - the gelfling from the Dark Crystal. (Kira too but not as much as I was crushing over Jen. Whoa boy...)

I was thinking about this today, because we're planning to screen The Dark Crystal for my six year old and his ten year old half-sister next weekend. I know I saw the movie when I was about 9... and I clearly remember that my best friend wanted to be Kira, and I wanted to be Jen just so I could kiss her.

Oh, and David Bowie in Labyrinth.

Oh, hell yes. I can still remember the angst over desperately wanting to be Jennifer Connelly. I even had a baby brother that I was full prepared to sacrifice.

Oh, - and Steve, the first host from Blue's Clues. And Jessica Alba but only from the first half of the first season of Dark Angel. Hot. Phew.

Oh, mine too. That was probably the final celebrity crush I acquired.

Before that, in addition to the requisite things for Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Christopher Reeve, I had the ones I'm a little more embarrassed to admit:

* Shaun Cassidy
* the guy who played Jon on CHIPS (whose name I can't even remember)
* Glen Campbell
* Bobby Sherman (I am dating myself, huh?)

Oh oh and and the judge from Night Court!  Although less full-blown crush and more "Awww, I want to put him in my pocket and pat heem!".

Oh, and Erin Gray from the Buck Rodgers TV series (mmmmm...spandex!)...and she wasn't too bad in Silver Spoons either (a MILF before there even was such a term!). And I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting...

Michelle Pfeiffer in Ladyhawke. Well, okay, I guess I was barely in college when I saw that movie. But still. Unearthly beauty.
