I had a dream that my child was into kids' metal, and I had to keep buying albums by bands with names like "Chickensqueeze" and "Gristlemime".

I like that they're into kids' metal. At least it's age-appropriate.

That's excellent.

Cian seems to have a taste for funk. Of the things he's heard from my music collection so far, Rippopotamus seems to be his favorite band.

They're no Chickensqueeze, but they'll do for now.

Gristlemime??! Wow, did you remember those names specifically from the dream or is that a conscious adaptation of your dream recollection? If the former, I am totally envious of your dream mind!

No, I specifically remembered them -- if I am in that half-asleep state and the thought of something makes me giggle, I re-tell it to myself so that I can remember it. This usually requires waking up either VERY SUDDENLY from a DEEP SLEEP!, or from normal sleep at a leisurely weekend-morning pace.

By the way, you may need to Google for "Hatebeak".

Oh my!

"Meet Hatebeak, the world's first death-metal band whose lead singer is a parrot."

Yes, yes, I needed to do that.

The Thunderlords!

"What would happen if the Wiggles met White Zombie backstage at an Iron Maiden concert and decided to form a band? I'm not really sure, but I'd bet they would sound a lot like The Thunderlords. The Thunderlords play loud heavy music with goofy fun lyrics that everyone can enjoy, except those looking for some peace and quiet. Warning: this is not the album you want to put on at nap time!"
