I am eating a cookie that just came out of our toaster oven.

I said to D, "I want a cookie!" Sadly, it was 11:56. So, he made me cookie dough from a recipe he knows by heart and we baked a single cookie in the toaster oven. I had to sit and look at it for a minute in sheer joy.

Well, that and cheese toast. And you can bake a single loaf of banana bread in it.

Toaster ovens are wonderful things. If mine weren't already promised, I'd pass it on to you, so that you could do things like this for [livejournal.com profile] chaiya. Sadly, it is, but they're really cheap and infinitely useful.

they live nearby, so your former toaster oven could be used to bake chaiya cookies in a pinch!

Your new name pleases me immensely. Then again, the fact that it was in my head days after I read [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha's comment is probably why. :)

Cooooookie.

In case your wondrous man doesn't always feel like doing extraordinary things, here's another option that's always in place at my place. Mix up a batch of cookies and freeze them individually. I like using a scoop-with-action: http://www.odense.com/recipes/recipe50-step7-400w.jpg. They keep a long time and let you have one cookie -- baked or otherwise -- at a time.

i'm curious if he knows the recipe for one cookie, or if it was modified, or if there's now cookie dough sitting around needing to be baked!

He knows the recipe for half a batch o' dough, so there is definitely cookie dough sitting around waiting to be baked.

that is far too cute for words. i'd give him a cookie except he already gave it to you. XD

***A*** cookie? Like, just one?

This is lovely and cute and all but...

well...

I'm having this difficulty with the concept of "a cookie". I'm not sure I'm parsing it correctly. Can you elaborate?

Sure, it's easy. It goes something like this:

- Stand in kitchen conversing with husband while he makes half a batch of cookie dough
- Eat cookie dough in large forkfuls for a while, going "mmmm, god, this is good"
- Remember that what you really wanted was a single cookie
- Roll up a bit of dough and pop it in the toaster oven at 350 or something
- Poke it after two minutes, and endure laughter of husband
- After eight minutes, pop it out and enjoy.

At this point, you may be too full of cookie dough to continue any further.
