moominmollyGosh, it's really nice to talk to uninvolved parties and have them tell me that I'm not crazy, that my job really does suck that much, and that I should quit just as soon as I milk them for a trip to Amsterdam. Well, OK, he's involved, being married to me and all, but he's pretty objective about that sort of thing.

Date: 2002-04-03 09:46 pm (UTC)heh, no, the problem is management. They are making some startlingly poor decisions, and those decisions are starting to encroach on me. My boss's boss explicitly values sucking up more than technical skill or ability to do one's job as well as the jobs of those around one. And, although my (admittedly cool) direct boss doesn't agree with this philosophy, she GOES ALONG with it, which is almost as bad. It is her job to insulate us from petty political pigeon-poop from above, and she is not doing that. My last boss did that admirably, but then got laid off for not sucking up.
And, frankly, fuck 'em!
