(no subject)
Feb. 9th, 2005 10:15 pmTonight, I received an in-person reply to the memory-of-me entry. It was a secondhand account of me (from a u.t.d post, no less, from 1995 or so), and it went something like this: the poster was in a meeting, and I demanded to be let in by scratching and mewling at the door. Once I gained entry, I wouldn't let anyone do any work until they all repeated some little rhyming phrase that ended in Molly.
Now, at first, I thought it was fiction. But then, I thought -- you know, I did have to go to all of those BSDAC meetings then. And, you know, I'm often late, and they did sometimes lock the doors. And I didn't have a key. So, it was probably more fun to scratch and yowl than, say, knock. And I do like silly phrases with my name in them, with the possible exception of "Good Golly, Miss Molly!" but sometimes I'll even let that one go by. But I can't tell! And now I've been thinking about it so long that I really have no idea if the memory I've dredged up is genuine or fabricated by my tricky little brain.
(Thinking back, given the timeline, it's entirely possible that this could have happened during the phase during which I obsessively anagrammed everyone's full name, including my own. I was a little excitable about full-name anagrams. I could see showing one off. I don't know, I just don't think I'd mewl.)
