IBM has decided to change everyone's titles to fit in with their own title schema. Apparently, my new title is senior staff software engineer. Personally, I think that's a crock, since it implies that I, oh, I don't know, engineer software. Ahhhh, no. I'm a software mechanic. A well-paid bit janitor, perhaps. But an engineer? Flagrant abuse of the word!

So, the new cafe(teria) woman (Laura) asked me about my bike today, totally unprompted. I made some vague "gosh I hope it doesn't rain or nuthin'!" noises and she said, "Oh yeah? Riding your bike home today?" We chatted for a while about the bike path.

OK, so, the caf is right by the entrance where I bring my bike in in the mornings, and I did once pop by wearing lycra. Still. Hee hee hee.
