Oh! Nice! Right after posting that, I got a call from a friendly woman who said, no, no, bad loan guy just didn't know what he was talking about, all the rest of us have our heads screwed on nice and tight and we're all ready to close for you on the 30th, and, you know, while we're at it, you're approved! and the appraisal is tomorrow morning, thank you for asking and is there anything else I can do for you?

So, yay! They rule again, I just happened to run up against a guy who was less than useful to me, and who cost me a few hours of life.
