burning man!
Mar. 6th, 2002 10:01 amPassed along from a message board for a camp of some friends, because it made me smile. Tomorrow = today, Wednesday.
This week we are as far from Black Rock City as the universe allows. Sorry, I'm a wee late posting this. Our week in the Middle actually ends tomorrow at noon. The number of days between last wednesday and the end of the last burn, is the same as the number of days between this wednesday and the start of the next burn. Exciting, no? Black Rock City, a city in both time and space, is not only located in Nevada, in the summer, it's on the exact opposite side of the sun from where we are now. Which is to say, BRC is about 186 million miles away. Restricted to the path of the Earth's orbit as we are (which puts the distance up to 292 million miles), and traveling at an average speed of over 66,000 mph (even while intoxicated), we'll make it to the other side in
just under six months. Which is just in the nick of time to catch the next Burn.
