it's scary in here

Natalie stood up last night. Not "held onto my hands and was hoisted", or even "pulled herself up on a piece of furniture", but "rolled back from all fours into a frog-squat and then just stood up unassisted".

Go, small girl! Fulfill your dreams of running around!

You are encouraging this behavior?!?!?!

[identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm torn between terror and excitement. I figure I can't STOP her from standing and walking, though, so I might as well be happy about it. :)

Yikes!

[identity profile] dancingwolfgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Eek! I mean, I didn't ever think you'd have that long before she started toddling, but... Nothing is safe from curious baby hands now! :)

[identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry, it doesn't yet seem repeatable. :)

[identity profile] ectropy.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure that will change... :)

[identity profile] amare.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, that makes me wonder what went on in her brain when she did it and whether she's trying to reverse engineer this process to do it again. :)

[identity profile] dancingwolfgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
It's only a matter of time! Although, really, I suppose it always has been :)

[identity profile] moonshadow.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Go, baby, go!

[identity profile] veek.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoa. Go Natalie go!

[identity profile] arachne8x.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, good show little lady!

[identity profile] msdaisy.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)
w00t! Go Natalie!

[identity profile] tisana.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's one independent baby.

[identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
She makes up for it by being insanely cuddly. Also, we just learned that [livejournal.com profile] dilletante started walking at 9 months. Oh my, oh my.

she eyes the silks every week...

[identity profile] dancingwolfgrrl.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
In fact, she crawled across the mat to play with the shiny tails last week. I did not show her how to pull herself up using them :)

i have faith that she will figure that out on her own and quickly ;)

[identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
This is where I think about how incredibly glad I am that there are big crash mats. :)

Tomorrow the world! (Between naps.)

[identity profile] gretchens.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy cow! Go, Natalie! (err, or, Stay, Natalie! Whichever you prefer at this stage....) Cuddly ones are awesome, aren't they?

[identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Cuddly rules. :) She's big enough to kind of give hugs, now!

Yipes! Now you get to experience the joys of an ambulatory 9-month-old. =:-O

Childproof early and often!

[identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I was really rooting for the "early talker late walker" kind of baby, but I guess I'm going to be thwarted. :)

A month, you think? Okay. I will enjoy this non-ambulatory month while I still can.

Well, note that I weasn't ruling out the possibility of an ambulatory 8-month-old. :-)

[identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe that this is what's known in the industry as "not helping". :)

[identity profile] keyne.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, my firstborn walked at 8 months, 15 days.

<looks at the ceiling, whistling>

[identity profile] water-childe.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I fully expect that she will be walking by the time I get back from Pennsic. She's been eager to walk for over a month now. She's a total dynamo. Seriously, the kid's a marvel. I'm not an expert. But of the kids her age I've looked after before? Her motor skill and mobility development is more then impressive. I've been impressed with her from the get-go and I continue to be impressed.

[identity profile] the-xtina.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
There must be a photo opportunity of her standing and looking pensively at the bike.  MUST.  I've seen into the future, you know!

[identity profile] moominmolly.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
MUST!

I'm basically with you on that one.

[identity profile] rednikki.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
She is INCREDIBLE! I'm amazed she's doing that so quickly.
