gluten-free beer that doesn't suck

It exists! Last night [livejournal.com profile] redheadedmuse and I I tried Bard's Tale sorghum beer that I picked up at Ball Square. Not only did it taste like actual beer, unlike New Grist, it tasted like a beer I would willingly pick out of a lineup. It was complex, a little dark and a little sweet, with really just a hint of sorghum. I would buy and drink it even if I wasn't looking for something gluten-free.

I strongly strongly strongly recommend Green's for a high-quality gluten-free beer. [livejournal.com profile] jacflash can attest both to its tastiness and lack of gluten.

Had one of these (I think it was a tripel) at The Boynton in Worcester, and I've also seen it in a liquor store in Marlboro. I have to believe that you can find it in a decent liquor store in the city.

So hey, when a friend of mine visiting from Europe found one of his favorite Europe beers there, and was surprised/happy, the guy at the counter (I think assuming my friend was an expat lonely for beer) said, whatever you like! if it has a MA distributor, I will FIND IT for you! So if you like that sort of stuff, ask them for more.
