Let's say you're the hiring manager for a non-customer-facing technical position, and your workplace is somewhat laid back, but not quite foosball tables in the bathrooms laid back. Further, let's say you interview someone for a position and they basically knock your socks off on the phone, but when they come in for an in-person interview, despite knocking even more socks, they turn out to have BRIGHT ORANGE HAIR.

[Poll #1064663]

I know what I'm going to do, but I'm curious what other people think I should do.

Clearly you're going orange. Now do tell us the rest. The more "done" you are, the more you balance out the I'M WEARING ORANGE HAIR!! effect. How much are you choosing to balance?

How will you style your hair (I'm imagining the front like this (http://www.pictures-of-hairstyles.com/photoAlbum/Formal-Hairstyles/t__Formal-Hairstyle-02.jpg) but there are many possibilities)? How formally will you dress? Makeup? Leather shoes?

Trust me, I will look very put together; that said, it should be clear that I am not actually soliciting fashion advice from LJ. :)

But LJ is CURIOUS. If you tell us about it after, you'll be both satisfying the curiosity and depriving us of the ability to "suggest."

(Er, suggest again? My link wasn't meant to be a suggestion, honest.)

Hee! How about I post a photo after the interview? :)

Works for me.

Ah! That photo you gave is not dissimilar to what I'm going to do with it, though my bangs are a bit shorter than that. Still, sleek and pinned back in front seems to me to work pretty well in terms of communicating "really, I can be serious even despite the hair".
