Lend me your kids!

I would like practice taking photos of babies and kids. I've already taken all possible photos of the ones in my house, so I need to start practicing on some new ones. Do you have a kid? Would you be willing to bring 'em to me for a weekend hour or so, so I could take pictures? I'm going to be really awful to schedule with, I can tell you in advance, but I can make up for it in enthusiasm or something.

(A lot of this is going to be me getting used to dealing with other people's kids. I'm no monster, but I'm not precisely smooth and social, either.)

sure!

Probably not this weekend or the following one due to travel and whatnot, but some weekend shortly after that I suspect Cian would be happy to come over for some photos.

Be warned. He doesn't object to having his photo taken at all, but he doesn't always take well to being posed or asked to smile, etc. I've had good luck getting some decent photos of him, but very rarely when he was "being photographed." He tends to be cheerful about it, just not always helpful. So perhaps he's exactly the practice you're looking for. ;-)

Funny you should mention. :) My actual theory is that I'd be good at sort of environmental portraits of kids: go visit them in their natural habitat and take tons of pictures until they're okay with it and just kind of ignore the camera and run around in trees like they normally would do (or whatever). So actually, he sounds perfect!

running around in trees!

Excellent. I prefer that sort of pictures of kids, and people in general, anyway.
