I see sentence- and area-shaped patterns, I think (my reading speed is very fast). I don't subvocalize while reading or hear the words in my head.

I do this too. And I eventually figured out that it's why I'm not a poetry reader at heart -- poetry forces me to actually pay attention to each word, and I find it frustratingly slow.
