I am jealous of you and other friends who seemingly can find parenting rewarding and joyful day after day, who have wonderful, creative, empathic, securely-attached, responsible kids because they've been raised by Real Parents.

Oh god, parenting should have its own post of this sort. I could have written more or less those exact words.

I post the joyful parts so I can remember them myself. The hard parts sometimes bore me to talk about -- but on the other hand, I love it when other people do. Maybe there's a lesson for me in that.
