OK, so I changed the questions:

1. How/why did we meet?
2. Have we ever met in person? before or after meeting online?
3. I'm not intimidating, am I?
4. Have we ever fought about anything? Did it make sense at the time?
5. What career path should I pursue?
6. Do you know any secrets about me?
7. Have I ever cooked food for you?
8. Do you know how old I am? Don't peek.
9. Have you ever seen me cry?
10. Have you ever seen me kick ass?
11. Have I ever seen you kick ass? Be honest, the answer is probably yes.
12. Am I silly? What am I?
13. What should I pursue that I haven't yet? (Hanggliding, rollercoaster design, karate, joining the French Foreign Legion, glassblowing...)
14. Do I have anything to teach people?
15. If I were to give you a present, what would it be likely to be?
16. What would you like to know about me that you don't?
17. What would you like to tell me that you haven't?
18. What should I do more of?
19. What should I do less of?
20. What did I miss?

i like your questions better. perhaps i'll swipe them :) meanwhile, answers!

1. mutual friend in cee
2. yup, before
3. i don't think so. but i tend to be oblivious to intimidating.
4. not that i've noticed. but i'm often oblivious about that too :)
5. haven't the foggiest. something that doesn't drive you nuts.
6. well, there's stuff i wouldn't tell the inquisition :)
7. not specifically for me, but i may have eaten stuff you made for others. i swipe.
8. nope. younger than me, i think.
9, 10, 11. yup.
12. well and truly :)
13. aikido ;)
14. if you could teach your laugh, the world could be saved.
15. a good laugh :)
16. everything. i'm nosy.
17. everything. i'm pushy :)
18, 19. afaict, your ducks seem pretty reasonably en-rowed :)
20. the bus. that's okay, there'll be another one by real soon....whups, wait, i mean i missed *my* bus! :)

OK, I like the new questions, so I'll answer this. :)

1. Cee, of course. What's more, I felt like I knew you long before we actually met, from all the stories I'd heard. When we did meet, though, it dawned on me that you are even cooler.
2. Yes; we met in person first, WE MEET AGAIN HERE, BATMAN. Um.
3. Intimidating? No. What you may be referring to here is your strength of character; some get intimidated by it. I think they are silly.
4. I, uh, don't *think* we have ever had a reason to fight.
5. You should pursue the career path that makes you happy. For you that will probably involve helping people with something or other.
6. I don't know. I think so, but can't be sure.
7. I believe, yes, you have cooked food for me.
8. Um. I think so. I think we're the same age. But I could be wrong.
9. Yes.
10. You kick 4$$ on a daily basis!!
11. I think you have, yes.
12. You are silly. You are a muppet.
13. If you haven't already, you should pursue music. If you have, then hmm. Scaling a mountain. Wait, you've done that too? Oh for goodness' sake.
14. You have kindness, persistence, strength physical and emotional, laughter, geekery...
15. A kiss on the nose and a giggle when I needed it.
16. If I don't know it, how will I know to ask?... I'd like to know many things about you. Hopefully, we'll be finding out things about each other for a while yet.
17. If I haven't told you already, it's probably more private than an LJ comment allows. That said, I don't think I've kept things from you on purpose.
18. You should do more experimental cooking, and invite me to play. (I am a selfish bastard! Yes!)
19. You should do less... um, I don't know. One of the things I like most about you is your intuitive knowledge of what's good to do, be, at what time.
20. You missed getting soaked then dry then soaked then dry then SOAKED that Friday in Amsterdam, but that's probably for the best. Also, you missed the abundance and amazing variety of wild mushrooms at the farmers' market between your place and the bus stop; that was the only thing I experienced without you and truly regretted your not being there.

1. Cee. Also, you hot chix and I'm, well, me.
2. Who are you, again?
3. Only in the way of physically attractive women.
4. Kind of, yeah. And yeah. And we will again, I'm sure. :-)
5. One that gives you joy. Teaching.
6. If I told you, I'd have to kill you.
7. I think so, yes.
8. 25, iirc.
9. I don't think so.
10. Yes, but I've never seen you bother to take names. You kick ass so often, it's not a real event anymore.
11. I don't believe so, no.
12. You can *be* silly, which is different from being inherently silly. You're not a toon, for example.
13. Hang-gliding is a real blast. Swim the English channel.
14. You have more to teach than you can in this lifetime, to be honest. If you start with teaching young women to think and act for themselves, you'll never run out of students.
15. A bike repair lesson.
16. How you feel about my ex, exactly.
17. Many, many things.
18. Working out.
19. Working for The Man.
20. The Sixties.

7. yes, yummy thanksgiving pie and whipped cream

10. you kick ass all the time :)
11. probably yes
12. you are way silly. and cute, too.
13. kayaking and language design
14. lots - how to be positive and happy

1) cee introduced us. Er, wait. Online, 6 1/2 years ago, Lintilla, some women-friendly-but-still-kinda-lame dungeon chat room place. You swashbuckled and I swooned and then you tucked me in. *tuck tuck tuck*
2) We met in person about four months later, in Atlanta, in an airport. I flew in as you were driving down with David to see some of America and ostensibly catch some Olympics, which of course will always make it easy to remember the year. David juggled, we shared a banana split, and we found a quiet throughway where there were hair-brushing and confessions of nascent perhaps-love.
3) I've never found you intimidating. Confusing and unreachable, for long stretches, but I think we're good and past that now.
4) "Fought" That's such a charged word, and I'm not sure I'd apply it. There have been painful and strong words between us, including on the bike trip, which were necessary to reestablish respect and communicate where we stood. But I don't think fighting.
5) I really still hope you explore teaching, at least for a while. The world desperately needs good teachers, and you so need not to become a corporate drone. Especially since there's a slim chance that you'll get to have sex with the queen before they throw you out of the hive and you die. Or something.
6) Secrets. Hmm. Not really. You tell me things that I know are meant just to squirrel into my own very specific ears and not other people's, but that's not a secret, per se. It's more like, the kind of things you can say to someone who has a lot of history with you and understands, creates that shared space.
7) Yup. In fact, aside from a few meals here and there at our abode-in-common, there were a good many oh-thank-god-she's-cooking-and-I-only-have-to-set-up-the-tent meals.
8) I always always forget whether you're three or four years younger. It astounds me. I'll guess that you're 25, which means you turn 26 before I turn 30.
9) Yes. This, I feel, is something of a privilege, not that I am glad for the circumstances.
10) On a nigh-daily basis, honey.
11) Well, crossing the Rockies together kind of sets us up for this, don't it?
12) What a self-evident question. You're silly just for asking it. You're probably wriggling while you type it. "Hey" - bats eyes, squirms on butt, small cute mammals either flock to you or expire in ecstacy - "am I silly?"
13) Drugs. *snerk* Ummm... I don't know. I think, actually, you have so many cool hobbies and habits and interests, what might be more valuable for you would be to follow some of them farther, to hone your skills more. I've enjoyed seeing you sewing lately, I look forward you to you and David doing the PCT (and me being stay-at-home-heh-now-I'll-mail-them-dried-cherries girl), and I think you'll be doing a great work of art to start raising a child.
14) Everyone has something to teach people (though sometimes by example of what not to do: here, children, is how NOT to run the country). You have more than many, and you've certainly taught me a lot of what I needed in order to start dealing with phobias and calcified mindstates, but you also don't posit yourself as a teacher.
15) Um, the gift of intertwining lives? That works for me.
16) I figure I ask you anything I want to know about you. I'm nosy that way.
17) I'm scared that I'm going to miss you very, very badly when you leave the country.
18) That's kind of an unfair question to yourself. You're fighting so hard to juggle your time as it is, to apportion yourself amongst the things and people whom you judge to need you. If your life were in a rut and you somehow weren't noticing, that would be one thing; but when you're in a period of "oh my god, I need sleep so badly, I have a house to set up, I don't have enough time for my loved ones and my interests," I figure the only thing you need to do more of is rest.
19) Fret. Berate yourself for being unable to accomplish everything you think up. Expect yourself to be superwoman 24/7.
20) I think we can trust each other to say quite well when there's anything missing here.

B's off at a party, and I'm home alone, and my usual avenues of distraction have proven unfulfilling, so I'm gonna pester you for a bit. Sorry.

How/why did we meet? -- Ur. No recollection.

Have we ever met in person? before or after meeting online? -- Yup, before.

I'm not intimidating, am I? -- Not really.

Have we ever fought about anything? Did it make sense at the time? -- Probably, and probably.

What career path should I pursue? -- Teaching. Or computational linguistics. (Is that even a field? It should be.)

Do you know any secrets about me? -- Nothing that isn't known by at least one other person, no.

Have I ever cooked food for you? -- Yup. Beef jerky and marzipan, at the very least.

Do you know how old I am? Don't peek. -- A year or two older than I am, I think.

Have you ever seen me cry? -- Yes.

Have you ever seen me kick ass? -- Yes.

Have I ever seen you kick ass? -- Don't think so.

Am I silly? What am I? -- Yes. You're the sort of person who puts two entirely different questions under one number.

What should I pursue that I haven't yet? -- Don't know how much you'd like the FFL, but the rest sound like things you'd enjoy. Other than that... motorcycling, if you've any interest at all (you're fearless enough).

Do I have anything to teach people? -- Yes!

If I were to give you a present, what would it be likely to be? -- At this moment, I'd guess either DDR MAX or weights.

What would you like to know about me that you don't? -- Hm. So many choices.

What would you like to tell me that you haven't? -- I've been wanting to visit and/or move to Maine, and it's all your fault.

What should I do more of? -- Travel.

What should I do less of? -- Self-injury through overexertion.

What did I miss? -- The dot. This reel is over; changeover.

Nrr. Self-important and condescending much?

I just realized this could easily be parsed as "I'm bored, guess you'll have to do." Sorry -- I didn't intend it that way at all. *self-larts*

In the spirit of the National Non Sequitur Society (Motto: "We Don't Make Sense, But We Love Pizza"), I'd like to point out that this is merely one example of how proper grammar and phrasing is actually important in the real world. Phrase that sentence poorly, and people might get pissed at you; phrase it correctly (e.g., "Hey, neat, I get to pester you! Oh, and here's a minor update on my life ...") and it has the potential to not be irksome.

No recollection.

You know, I don't remember either. However, I remember how we didn't meet: David told me all about you and Shosh running around with swords at that one-shot at M's place in Chicago and I was amused from afar.

You're the sort of person who puts two entirely different questions under one number.

Sadly, you're right! I didn't phrase that one appropriately. :)

[You should do less] Self-injury through overexertion.

*ting!* good call. I'm much better now, though. I played DDR for an hour with no pain!

didn't feel snubbed at all by your intro,

1. How/why did we meet?

We met initially at DJ's prior flat.  You, [livejournal.com profile] dilletante, and [livejournal.com profile] cloeigrrl were on yall's way out the door to a club or some such.  DJ embarrassed me by describing my reaction to a picture of you.  Punk ass that he is!

Later meeting was done at a party, discussing infinite power and the concept of cups.

2. Have we ever met in person? before or after meeting online?

Aaactually, I was using a stunt-double.  "Fooled you!" (end Spaceballs voice)  And I think we talked before I met you online.

3. I'm not intimidating, am I?

Yes and no.  No, in that we both share a healthy appreciation for "rational silliness".  (Aren't I right, my aromatic pot of coffee?)  Yes, in that you rock in fifteen different ways that I can count right now.  I persevere, though.  *grin*

4. Have we ever fought about anything? Did it make sense at the time?

We have never fought.  Thus, it didn't make sense that we fought.  But we didn't.  Aiee, paradox!

5. What career path should I pursue?

Professional Meme Perpetuator.

6. Do you know any secrets about me?

Yes!  Secretly, you enjoy Barry Manilow.

7. Have I ever cooked food for you?

I've been meaning to tell you, I think the recipe was three *ounces* of red peppers, not three *pounds*.  (No.)

8. Do you know how old I am? Don't peek.

Yes!  82.  (28?)  (Amusingly, I guessed that without being number-reversy-clever.)

9. Have you ever seen me cry?

Only with the euphoric joy of knowing me!  (No.)

10. Have you ever seen me kick ass?

Yes!  Dude, the house!

11. Have I ever seen you kick ass? Be honest, the answer is probably yes.

Hmm.  I'm actually not sure.  It's hard to kick ass effectively via IM.

12. Am I silly? What am I?

Yes!  A mongoose!

13. What should I pursue that I haven't yet? (Hanggliding, rollercoaster design, karate, joining the French Foreign Legion, glassblowing...)

Glassblowing, and I owe you a cup.  Hmm...  Fencing (talk to [livejournal.com profile] scottsch about free lessons).  Wing chun.  Swing dancing.  Swimming.  Writing with your left hand.  Speed reading.

14. Do I have anything to teach people?

Most definitely yes.

15. If I were to give you a present, what would it be likely to be?

I haven't the foggiest clue, but I'd ask you to tell me quickly, because I'm impatient like that.

16. What would you like to know about me that you don't?

I can't think of anything specific right now, so I'll ask you Monday.

17. What would you like to tell me that you haven't?

Hey, you're fab!

18. What should I do more of?

Pull-ups.  (Got me.)

19. What should I do less of?

Not sure yet.

20. What did I miss?

Star Trek!  That's what you get for being on LJ!

(I am silly today.)

Oh! you turned tc into a ploofpanda! SAD!

I'm glad people said this. It's not that being intimidating is bad, it's just that I really don't see myself that way. A couple of people have told me recently that I am, and I don't believe them.

Your answers to #16 and #17 are vague! c'maaaaaan...
