mmmmmmmmmm.

Skated to work today. It's about 12 miles, in all, and I had to be in by 8, so it was a nice healthy morning workout. Winter Hill is a terrible way to start at 6:15 AM. It's not so bad on a bike at that hour; even with that groggy pedaling-through-mud feeling, the hill's smallish and doable. But when I'm on skates, it still feels like a mountain to me. This is especially true on four hours of sleep.

Once we made it over the hump, the skate was gorgeous. The weather was cool and sunny and blue, and we were out early enough that the path was pretty sparsely populated. We parked our butts behind the White Hen in Arlington for a quick Pop Tart -- in the morning, they are food -- and then zoomed the rest of the way out to Hartwell Ave, making it in plenty of time for my shift.

David came in for a quick show-and-tell and met JD. Sadly, Sarge wasn't in. Anyway, David then turned around to skate back in to Somerville and then off to work. Wow. At least I'm splitting my day's mileage up into two chunks.

Lunch today with coraline and Jess. Neat!

not i, not yet. but i have been thinking for a little while that it's about time i bought a bike to replace the one that was stolen bit by bit over the course of my college years, so stay tuned. :)
